Your first step is a free 30-minute initial meet & greet, either online or by phone. This is our chance to get to know each other a bit. I'll listen to where you're at right now and what's brought you to counselling. I'll explain how I work and answer any questions you might have. It's an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable with me and for us to decide together if we're a good fit. There's no pressure – it's all about finding the right support for you.
Person-centred counselling is all about you. It's based on the belief that you're the expert on your own life and have the inner resources to grow and heal. my role is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. I won't tell you what to do or give advice. Instead, I'll listen deeply, offer support, and help you gain clarity. This approach allows you to set the pace and direction of our work together, empowering you to find your own solutions and make choices that are right for you.
I offer flexibility in how we connect, Face-to-face sessions provide a personal touch, including online video sessions and telephone counselling. Online sessions allow you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own space, which many find less intimidating than face-to-face meetings. Telephone counselling offers an extra layer of anonymity that some clients find freeing, allowing them to open up more easily. Both methods provide the convenience of fitting therapy into your busy life without the need to travel. Rest assured, I use secure platforms to ensure your privacy and confidentiality.
Please note that while I offer support for anxiety, trauma, and related concerns, my current location unfortunately does not have wheelchair accessibility. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and am happy to discuss alternative arrangements if needed.
Walk and Talk therapy offers a unique alternative to traditional face-to-face counselling. We'll meet at an agreed location, often near the river, and walk together as we talk. This approach combines the benefits of counselling with the calming effects of being in nature. Many clients find that walking side-by-side feels less intense than sitting face-to-face, making it easier to discuss difficult topics. The physical movement can help reduce anxiety and boost mood, while the changing scenery often inspires new perspectives. It's particularly beneficial for those who find it hard to sit still or feel confined in a typical therapy room. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or simply curious about a different approach to therapy, Walk and Talk sessions could be a refreshing option for you.
