Life has a way of throwing curveballs when we least expect them. For me, it was a series of losses that turned my world upside down. I lost a beloved family member and my job in quick succession, leaving me grappling with grief and a profound loss of identity. Suddenly, two major pillars of my life were gone, and I felt lost, unsure of where to turn or what to do next.
These experiences took their toll, and I found myself needing to move, adding another layer of change to an already overwhelming situation. It was during this tumultuous time that I turned to therapy, seeking help to navigate my grief and rediscover my sense of self.
Through my own therapy journey, I worked through my losses and began to heal. I also discovered something unexpected – a calling. What started as a personal journey of healing transformed into a passion for helping others. I realised I wanted more than just a job; I wanted a meaningful career where I could give back and support others through their own challenges.
My experiences have shaped who I am as a counsellor. I've faced the impact of loss in my family, navigated the complexities of my own neurodiversity, and understand firsthand the challenges of losing one's identity and rebuilding relationships. These experiences, while difficult, have given me a deep well of empathy and understanding to draw from in my work.
As someone who's experienced the transformative power of counselling, I'm committed to creating a safe, supportive space for my clients to explore their own journeys. Whatever you're facing – whether it's grief, loss, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck – I'm here to walk alongside you, offering support and guidance as you find your way forward.
I'm committed to continually expanding my knowledge and skills to better serve my clients. This includes staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in counselling, particularly in areas such as grief counselling, neurodiversity, and working with life transitions.
